Sep. 27--Looking around Cafe Lily in Decatur, it's not always clear when the nearby colleges are in session -- but you sure can tell when they are not.
No faculty from Emory having dinner, no Agnes Scott administrators wooing a hotshot professor, no Georgia State teachers from the neighborhood sipping wine, no upper-crust out-of-town families checking out potential landing zones for their high school seniors.
"You start adding this up, all year long, and it's a lot of your business," said co-owner Angelo Pitillo. "I can tell you that when the schools are out, we see about a 15 percent drop in sales."
