Sep. 28--Everybody wanted to be insulted by Groucho Marx.

It was his calling card; the thing that set him apart from other comedians of that day. Actor Frank Ferrante observed the legendary comedian in action during a 1976 press conference in Los Angeles. Ferrante was 13 years old at the time.

"I remember one of the reporters asking him: 'Groucho, are you making any more Marx Brothers' movies? And he said 'No, I'm answering stupid questions.' His body was shot but his mind was as sharp as ever." Groucho Marx had a 72-year career in show business, which ended with his death on Aug. 19, 1977, at the age of 86.
