SOME of the evidence by Environ-ment Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk in the corruption trial of former NNP MEC David Malatsi is a "blatant fabrication", the defence lawyer for former Western Cape premier Peter Marais has argued.
Advocate Craig Webster also argued that Van Schalkwyk and other senior NNP members had strategised to set up Marais, then also a senior NNP member, for a fall.
"And I submit it was done in a very thorough fashion," he said.
