Sep. 29--One of the largest for-profit water companies in the country is closer to gaining a foothold in the Lehigh Valley, where municipal systems or authorities and small private providers have dominated.
The last three objectors to the proposal for Aqua Pennsylvania Inc. of Bryn Mawr to purchase the County Club Gardens Water Co., which serves 415 homes in South Whitehall, Lower Macungie and Salisbury townships, have withdrawn their appeal to the state Public Utility Commission.
