Oct. 1--MARTINSVILLE -- Frank Deiny Jr. was on top of his game last season at Motor Mile Speedway. Then, within a matter of days, the bottom fell out.
First, there was a pit road tussle between Deiny and a fellow competitor. Next, a two-race suspension. Then, a harsh Web site message board posting directed at the track by a now-former Deiny crew member. The two-race suspension became four. The dust settled and, Deiny, who had already won six times at Motor Mile by mid-summer, opted not to return.
