Construction work at Sardar Sarovar dam resumes
Vadodara (Guj), Oct 1, (PTI) With construction work at the Sardar Sarovar dam resuming today after a gap of over two months, the neighbouring state of Rajasthan is eagerly awaiting completion of a 478-kilometre-long canal which will provide it water from the Narmada for over 265 days a year.
Work on raising the height of the Rs 30,000 crore dam at Kevadiya, about 110 kms from here, was suspended on July 18 after the arrival of the monsoon in various parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
