Boaters do the darnedest things. From starting and revving their boats' engines in parking lots before launching to trying to power their way off sandbars, there's seemingly no end to the knuckle-headed moves boaters are capable of. Don't laugh; we've seen guys run their engines dry on the trailer for as long as 30 seconds. They're more worried about possible embarrassment should their engines fail to start at the water's edge than the damage they're doing to their water pumps.
