Oct. 3--NAGOYA -- Around 150 people including Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe attended a ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the completion of a skyscraper set to become a new landmark in booming Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.
The 247-meter-high Midland Square, located close to JR Nagoya Station, is Japan's third-tallest building and the highest in central Japan. The 47-story building will house offices of about 30 companies, including Toyota, All Nippon Airways Co. and Nomura Securities Co.
"We'll have greater mobility with our global sales base in this excellent location," Watanabe said.
