Sheldon's opening match in the new Class 6A Southwest Conference may have taken just three games Thursday, but the host Irish had to battle the full 1 hour, 20 minutes to earn a 25-22, 25-22, 25-23 victory over North Medford in the conference opener for both teams.
Whether the rest of the Irish's conference matches will be as close remains to be seen, but North Medford coach Ron Beick said he expects the league to be both strong and balanced, though he would ...
