Oct. 4--Tuesday morning, Khaled "Kelly" Fadil's smile was in place, as were his mustache and faint beard, but something seemed missing from his eyes.
He looked a little wan and a little tired, and he admitted that he was.
It's Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim year. It is devoted to fasting from sunrise to sunset, never an easy thing.
