Byline: Mike Sakal

Oct. 4--A 15-year-old Chaparral High School freshman was arrested Tuesday after police say he sent a text message to a fellow student threatening to bring a gun to school and shoot her boyfriend.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of intimidation and threatening at his home about 7 a.m. and will be referred to the Maricopa County Juvenile Court, Scottsdale police said.

The girl said she received the text message from the boy about 8:15 p.m. Monday. She showed it to her father, who called police.

According to police, the message said: "I'm bringing a gun to school and (name deleted) is at the top of the list."
