A MOTHER who lost her own mum to breast cancer is urging other women not to duck out of breast screening.
Alison Smith was just 19 when she lost her mother Patricia Smith to breast cancer after a long battle against the disease, aged 45.
Patricia was 37 when she first found a lump in her breast.
It was removed with surgery and she had radiotherapy, but four years later she found a lump under her arm.
But despite surgery and two courses of chemotherapy she developed secondary cancer in her liver and died.
