Deadline is Nov. 17 to apply for 21st Century Fund
The state of Michigan has announced a deadline of Nov. 17 for requests from venture-capital and private-equity companies for funding from the $109 million 21st Century Investment Fund.
Money for the fund will come from the 21st Century Jobs Fund, a $2 billion, 10-year initiative funded by the state's tobacco settlement. Both the 21st Century Investment Fund and a $95 million Venture Michigan Fund will be administered out of a new Southfield office of the New York City-based investment-banking firm Credit Suisse, a division of Zurich-based Credit Suisse Group.
