Vitol acquires 34.5% of Ventspils Nafta
RIGA. Oct 6 (Interfax/BNS) - Switzerland's Vitol Group has acquired 36 million shares in Latvian oil holding company Ventspils Nafta (VN), which amounts to about 34.5% of charter capital, at an auction on the Riga Stock Exchange Latvian Economics Minister Aigars Ptokenbergs told Interfax.
"If somebody spoke of a strategic investor, well here it is," the minister said.
In turn, Latvian Vaira Vike-Freiberga said in a TV interview that it was good that the VN privatization was finally over. "It was not obvious that the state stake in VN brought any benefits. Therefore for the state it is better to sell its ...
