Oct. 6--LODI -- The first step toward Lodi's vision of a downtown scene of boutique hotels, restaurants and the wine industry is expected to come to fruition next month with the help of three local wineries.
A downtown wine-tasting room proposed by the Van Ruiten Family Winery, Jessie's Grove Winery and Michael-David Vineyards is expected to receive unchallenged approval from the Lodi Planning Commission on Wednesday to gain an alcoholic beverage permit for a 4,000-square-foot space at 21 N. School St. The wineries plan to open a wine-tasting bar promoting and selling their wines along with other industry-related merchandise....
