Oct. 7--The smell of burned rubber and the sound of screeching tires fill Pole Position Raceway, an indoor go-karting center that brings the feel of NASCAR and the adrenaline rush of motocross to Oklahoma City. The 85,000-square-foot building at NW 36 and May is a track made by racers for racers, said co-owner Ken Faught, who holds three world records in land speed motocross. "This is perhaps the closest people will ever get to real racing," Faught said. The electric karts can go as fast as 45 mph with engine torque of 20 horse power.
