Mannford wins in extra frames again: The Pirates will face Grove for the state title after needing 13 innings in a semifinal victory.

Oct. 7--OKLAHOMA CITY -- One extra-inning game wasn't enough for Mannford.

The sixth-ranked Pirates rallied to tie the game in the seventh and won 2-1 over Piedmont in 13 innings. Jordan Kinard followed up her 31-strikeout performance on Thursday with 18 against Piedmont.

The Pirates (32-4) advance to the all-East Class 4A state championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday. Mannford has finished runner-up twice (1996 and 2004). The Pirates will face the same school they lost 4-0 to in the 1996 title game -- Grove.
