Oct. 9--A high-ceilinged 1870s bank building at Second Street and Girard Avenue that was a vacant warehouse for the last couple of decades is slated to reopen as Hyperion Bank next month in what organizers hope will be a landmark for the Northern Liberties revival. Among the bank's investors are developers Steve Atlass, Hyperion's chairman; and Bart Blatstein, who has been putting apartments and stores on nearby sites, including the former Schmidt's Brewery property across the avenue.
