Article: Rutabagas for livestock.

Since there is nothing new under the sun, how about reviving some old farming ideas and practices? I have enjoyed the recent articles on Jerusalem artichokes, but what about some other root crops as feed--like rutabagas?

While browsing through a local college library, I came across, in the historical section, a book with a wealth of information on nineteenth century American farming practices--A Year's Residency in the United States of America, by William Cobbett. The author was an Englishman who visited the U.S. in the early 1800s. His notes on American life contain much about farming experiments he tried during his stay.
