Vein Clinics of America, Inc., has agreed not to misrepresent the risks, recurrence rate, or exclusivity of its 'compression sclerotherapy,' non-surgical treatment for varicose and spider veins, according to a recent announcement from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The company claimed that its MicroCure Process was newly discovered and available exclusively at its 13 vein treatment clinics located in six states. The FTC says that the process, which involves injecting a solution into the vein, wrapping the area with bandages and advising an extensive walking regimen, is no different from that offered at clinics and physician offices around the country.
