Subway buskers star
in documentary at DIVA
Talk about underground music.
The six players featured in Anna Holtzman's first documentary "Subway Musicians" are all subway musicians who are auditioning for a spot in Music Under New York, a guild sponsored by the city's Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The film screens at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts, 110 W. Broadway. A free-lance journalist and native New Yorker, Holtzman will be present at the screening and will host a question-and-answer session after the film.
Tickets are $5 at the door.
