U.S. companies who think of Mexico as a "pollution haven" will be in for a rude awakening when they discover the impact its environmental laws can have on their plans to expand or relocate South of the Border.
In the few years since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) debates brought worldwide attention to its environmental problems, Mexico has implemented an innovative and aggressive regulatory program to correct the environmental ills brought on by rapid industrialization.
