CRYSTAL PALACE chairman Simon Jordan has claimed he hid his identity from predecessor Ron Noades to buy the club's Selhurst Park ground for [pounds sterling]12million.

The two men have endured a difficult relationship since Jordan purchased Palace from Noades six-and-a-half years ago and Jordan was concerned it could have affected negotiations.

'Given my relationship with the landlord, it's very, very difficult to negotiate a deal,' said Jordan, who used property developers Structadene as a third party to acquire the freehold.
