Oct. 11--The Red Barn Steak House has served its last meal. Owner David Jones said he will not rebuild the famed Lakeland eatery, which sustained heavy damage during an accidental fire June 22.
"I intended to rebuild, but to be honest, my sister lives in Tampa and was tired of driving back and forth. With the death of my father, my mom doesn't want to be part of it anymore. She wants to retire and do other things," said Jones, who owned the restaurant with his mother, Shirley, and sister, Cindy Keeble.
