Oct. 11--While the government has yet to detail its policy focus for the next 12 months, the overriding theme would appear to centre on "sufficiency economics", a concept championed by His Majesty the King that emphasises prudent spending and sustainable development.
The focus is a repudiation of sorts to the policies of the Thaksin Shinawatra governments, which focused on boosting domestic consumption through provision of easy credit and transfers from the state.
