Investors pump $70M into MedServe

MedServe Inc., of Houston, has obtained an additional $70 million in investment commitments, which company officials said would help finance their efforts to develop the second-largest company in the medical waste sector.

Avista Capital Partners, a private equity firm investing in the health care, energy and media sectors, has committed to investing $50 million in MedServe. The other $20 million will come from existing shareholder commitments and debt conversion, according to company officials.
