Farmington, as I learned last week, is an unlikely powerhouse in Class 5A football. And that's the beauty of it.
Photographer Renee Jones Schneider and I began chronicling high school sports, one week at a time, in January 2004. We traveled the state and reported on winter sports in Lancaster, Hibbing, Glencoe, Pierz, Mankato and Minneapolis. During the spring season last May we went to Virginia, Stewartville, Brandon, Eagan and Winona.
