Oct. 12--SOUTH BEND -- The Notre Dame men's basketball season has ended with a tournament berth the last three seasons.
Unfortunately, it's been a bid to the NIT.
The Irish made the NCAA Tournament in each of coach Mike Brey's first three seasons (2001, 2002, 2003), but since have missed the cut. Last year, the team finished 16-14 and was knocked out of the NIT by Michigan.
This is the season the Irish are looking to get back on track -- and it could prove to be a pivotal year. For the seniors, who were recruited as freshmen into a program that was coming off three tournament seasons, it's their final chance to be a ...
