The National Federation of Priests' Councils was born in 1968 from the inspiration and energy of the Second Vatican Council to promote a prophetic voice for priests within the church. Modeled on collaborative principles from its beginning, NFPC has networked for social justice with other national groups but its primary focus is to broaden the ministry and perspective of American priests while giving them a public forum to express their concerns. NFPC membership includes 109 councils representing 27,000 priests.
