Curd cheese produced by UK-based Bowland Dairy Products Ltd is to be banned from sale on EU markets, and any that is currently in circulation must be traced and destroyed, the European Commission announced on Friday.
In the first such case of its kind, the Commission introduced safeguard measures against the dairy company for failing to comply with EU food safety rules and producing food which the Commission deemed unfit for human consumption.
