"Reeechard," J.J. yells across the lagoon, "tuck zee butt in." I risk a peek back at her as she stands, hands impatient on hips in the classic pose of Gallic annoyance with English-speaking vermin. Standing in water so startlingly warm it's a surprise the fish don't poach as they swim, she scolds me again at the top of her very shapely lungs: "TUCK IN ZEE BUTT!" I haul in zee butt a little tighter to the mast, dig in my heels and pump on the wishbone as the board cuts into the water. It's hard to overstate the importance to my flagging mid-life esteem of learning, at last, to windsurf (or, at least, of staying upright long enough to call it windsurfing). Man, if ...
