Walmart establishes labor unions in all its Chinese stores
Shanghai. October 13. INTERFAX-CHINA - Walmart has established labor unions in all 62 stores it has in 30 Chinese cities, the All China Federation of Trade Unions told Interfax.
Walmart now has more than 6,000 members in its labor unions all around China.
The Chinese government has been encouraging foreign companies to set up labor unions. Guo Wencai, an official of the All China Federation of Trade Unions, said at a news conference recently that more efforts will be made on companies with no labor unions and singled out Foxconn and Kodak.
