DETROIT _ Toss out that tabby if you have cat allergies. 
Nothing else works, says a new Henry Ford Hospital test of products that claim to make the animals less irritating to allergy sufferers. 
``The best thing to do is to remove the cat from the home,'' says Dr. Charles Klucka, who led the Ford study. ``The next best thing is keeping the cat out of the bedroom'' and having the cat owner take allergy drugs or shots. 
About 6 million Americans are allergic to cats; a third of them own the animals anyway and suffer with symptoms including runny noses, itchy eyes and asthma-like coughing and wheezing.
