Until two years ago, Gary Carroll was a drinker and drug user mad at the world because he was inflicted with cerebral palsy while his twin brother was born normal.
Carroll did nothing but hang out at home in Hesperia, Calif., partying with friends and irritating his mother with his bad attitude and behavior.
``I was really stupid,'' said Carroll, 23.
``He was really out of control,'' said his mother, Genie Carroll, 54. ``He was a creepy kid.''
Then came a caller from out of the blue, saying Carroll had won a month's membership at the Victorville, Calif., Gold's Gym.
