Oct. 14--HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Heading into Friday's Big Nine Conference rivalry game against Albert Lea, the Austin High football team was in the midst of one of the worst seasons in school history.
All that was forgotten Friday night at Hammer Field.
The Packers played inspired football on both sides of the ball, wearing down the Tigers with a steady rushing attack and keeping them out of the end zone with a pair of goal-line stands.
Austin finally put a mark in the win column, holding off the Tigers for a 6-0 victory, the Packers' first of the season.
