Oct. 15--HARTSBURG -- The ride is over for a Main Street cycle shop.
After three years in business, the Hartsburg Cycle Depot closed its doors for good last Sunday, six days before the 15th annual Pumpkin Festival and its crowds of visitors. As the streets filled with festival vendors and visitors yesterday, the bicycle depot appeared deserted. Curtains were drawn on the inside, and the shop's neon signs were unlit. Standing on the porch in front of their store, Pam and Mark Allchorn said there were several reasons for the shop's impending move to Jefferson City.
