Oct. 16--Free laptops, anyone? Three groups of teachers from Milwee Middle School, Greenwood Lakes Middle School and Dr. Phillips High School were recently given laptops by Bright House Networks for winning the company's Star Teacher Award program. Earlier this year, the teachers were recognized for their lesson plans and projects that creatively used cable television, which is provided free of charge by Bright House. They were chosen out of 70 teachers who submitted 36 projects. As part of their award, the teachers were flown to New York City for a dinner, a tour of Manhattan and visits to Conde Nast Publications.
