Meggitt PLC and General Dynamics [GD] have reached agreement on a further $44 million contract for the development of the automated 120 mm ammunition handling system (AHS) for the Future Combat Systems' (FCS) Mounted Combat System variant.
The Mounted Combat Systems variant, one of eight manned vehicle classes for the Army's FCS program, is designed to provide a high degree of maneuverability and apply direct and beyond-line-of-sight--up to eight kilometers--rapid fire on multiple targets.
