WINNIPEG, MB, Oct 16, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Seeded area to winter wheat in Ontario during the 2007/08 (Sept 1/Aug 31) crop year will be hard pressed to match the record achieved a year ago, according to an official with the Ontario Wheat Producer's Marketing Board. Poor weather conditions were expected to prevent producers from significantly increasing planted area.
"Ultimately, how much area in Ontario will be seeded to winter wheat will be dependent on the weather and the soybean harvest," Larry Shapton, general manager for the Board said.
