Duluth, Minn. -- Rod Grams cruised up the North Shore highway last month at the wheel of a 35-foot motor home - his "campaign bus, office and motel."
Voice raised over the engine, the former U.S. senator, who is running against U.S. Rep. James Oberstar, was saying that less onerous environmental laws would help the mining and forest industries restore jobs.
"There's so much opportunity here, but we've got the boot of the federal government on our neck," said Grams, 58, who has been trying to return to Congress since losing his seat to Mark Dayton in 2000.
