WASHINGTON--The Health Insurance Association of America's executive committee is considering a proposal of Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski, D-Ill., that could mean a break-through in advancing the committee's health care reform proposal.
At press time, the HIAA executive committee had not acted on the package, and negotiations between HIAA's staff and the committee staff were "fluid," industry sources said.
Discussions between Rep. Rostenkowski, HIAA President Bill Gradison and their staffs have been ongoing since the congressman spoke at an HIAA meeting in Chicago in January.
