Oct. 17--LODI -- A two-alarm fire closed streets in downtown Lodi for two hours Monday morning as firefighters kept flames from spreading between adjacent boutiques. Most of the damage to shops was from smoke and from firefighters' efforts to ensure fire was not traveling through the walls that connect downtown buildings. Fire Marshal Verne Person said the fire began in a photography studio, Portraits by Tammy, at 14 W. Pine St., with heavy smoke damaging a next-door maternity store, Something Special; and an infant boutique, Willow Tree.
