THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), founded 105 years ago, takes charge of the enforcement of maritime laws in the country, a nation with considerable coast lines, given our archipelagic nature.
The Philippine Coast Guard is also involved in maritime search and rescue (SAR) missions, as well as the protection of marine environment. The country has 10 coast guard districts, 54 coast guard stations, and over 190 coast guard detachments, from Basco, Batanes, to Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
