The Platform of European Social NGOs feels that Margot Wallstrom's White Paper on a European Communication Strategy is not insistent enough about the responsibility of the EU institutions. On the other hand, it supports the code of conduct proposed by the commissioner for institutional affairs.
The white paper speaks of communication in 'Europe,' whereas social NGOs feel that it should speak of communication in the European Union as the "centre of power where decisions that concern all of us and for which decision makers can be held accountable are made".
