A YOUNG man drowned after trying to recover a submerged canoe from the River Dee, an inquest heard yesterday
Thomas Czachur, a strong swimmer, had been having fun with friends near the Chainbridge Hotel, Llangollen, when the tragedy happened on July 22.
His friends told the hearing in Denbigh how the mood of the afternoon suddenly changed when they realised that the popular 22-year-old was missing.
