Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, partners on "Saturday Night Live's" "Weekend Update," will star in the Universal comedy "Baby Mama," which Michael McCullers will write and direct.
Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing. Jill Messick will exec produce the pic about a single career woman whose desire to have a child and keep her career leads her to hire a surrogate.
Plan is to shoot next summer, when both Fey and Poehler have time off from their TV jobs.
McCullers, who wrote with Mike Myers the Austin Powers sequels "The Spy Who Shagged Me" and "Goldmember," makes his directing debut on the film. Fey created, exec produces and stars in the NBC sitcom "30 Rock."
