Oct. 18--ALBANY -- Portable generators and, believe it or not, chicken wings have seen price spikes big enough since last week's snowstorm that consumers brought gouging complaints to the state attorney general's office.
But so far, the incidents reported by consumers have not met the state's legal standard for price gouging, officials say. Still, state investigators are keeping an eye on the region, especially to ensure companies involved in debris removal and construction do not illegally jack up prices in response to the crisis.
