CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nucor Corporation announced today record consolidated net earnings and sales for the first nine months and the third quarter of 2006. Net earnings through the first nine months of 2006 exceeded 2005's previous record annual earnings. Nucor's consolidated net earnings for the first nine months of 2006 were $1.35 billion ($4.33 per diluted share), an increase of 39% over net earnings of $969.3 million ($3.04 per diluted share) in last year's first nine months.
