Oct. 19--LODI -- The head of downtown Lodi's business association said Wednesday his group improves the city's image and revenue in asking the City Council to approve an annual tax on businesses that included a 20 percent increase. "If the council doesn't think this is an improvement in our downtown and our community, vote no on levying our annual assessment," Downtown Lodi Business Partnership president Chuck Easterling said. "If a majority of our members don't think there is a collateral increase (in business), protest vote us out."
