VTB says it bought 5% of EADS for 1 bln euros (Part 2)
MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Vneshtorgbank (RTS: VTBR) (VTB) has acquired 5% of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) for approximately one billion euros ($1.225 billion), the bank said.
VTB bought the EADS shares in the summer after they plummeted in price on the stock exchanges following negative news about the Airbus manufacturing plan.
The Les Echos newspaper last week quoted unnamed sources in the French government as saying that VTB had bought another 1%-2% of the shares in EADS. VTB is not commenting on the information.
